Most innovations are dependent on new technology which is often under development and still advancing in time. While the claims within US Patent 885880 are indeed solid, various technical challenges were uncovered since its original filing which revealed that some of the specifications are not likely achievable.
Moreover, from the time of the original patent application, several advances had occurred in the supportive technology that furthered the need for a more refined and detailed application.
